The School Age Child Care Program at the YMCA is currently accepting applications for the 2022-2023 School Year.  Somerville Public Schools return on Wednesday, August 31, 2022.  All applications must be received no later than Friday August 27thth, in order for your child to begin on the first day of school. The program picks children up in our vehicles at the following SPS and PHACS locations and transports them to our main site here at the Y:

  • Argenziano
  • Brown
  • East Somerville
  • Healey
  • Kennedy
  • West Somerville
  • Winter Hill
  • Prospect Hill Academy Charter Schools Early Childhood Campus (Webster Ave.)-There is also an on-site Y run program at this location.  Please see our Y@PHA drop-down on this website for additional information or Registration Forms.
  • Prospect Hill Academy Charter Schools Upper Elementary Campus (Franklin Street.)-There is also an on-site Y run program at this location.  Please see our Y@PHA drop-down on this website for additional information or Registration Forms.

Program Ages:

5* to 13

*Must have turned five (5) by September 1st, 2022 and be enrolled in an SPS Elementary School or a PHA Charter School in Kindergarten. The Y cannot accept Pre-K children at this time.

Activities Include:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM Activities)
  • Somerville Community Growing Center Partnership
  • Outdoor time at local parks
  • Swim/Gym
  • Snack
  • Recreational Games
  • Reading/Literacy
  • Field trips on vacation weeks.

**Program Cost:

$44.00 per day for a full day, vacation day or early release day

$27 per day for a regular afterschool day.

Average weekly cost is between $135-$150.00

**A Y Youth membership is included for children ages 6-13 if your child attends the SACC Program.  All Youth members can access the Y free swim lessons.
