We are at full capacity with an extensive waiting list***<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Somerville Y is currently accepting applications for our waiting list for our Single Room Occupancy (SRO) units for men. Rooms at the Y are available for as little as a week or for as long as desired.\u00a0 Rent is paid in advance on a weekly basis, and there are no long-term leases, or contracts.\u00a0 Any man aged 18 or older with income or other assets is welcome to apply for our residency program. Residents are provided their own room, and share a kitchen and bathroom. Units are supplied with a twin bed and a dresser.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Please see below for key highlights regarding housing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Included Amenities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat, hot water, and electricity<\/li>\n<li>Basic cable television (resident to supply own television)<\/li>\n<li>Somerville Y individual membership<\/li>\n<li>Onsite management &amp; maintenance team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Resident Rules<\/strong> (additional rules are outlined in Somerville Y\u2019s Resident Policy):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No overnight guests<\/li>\n<li>No pets<\/li>\n<li>No smoking<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/somervilleymca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Resident-Policy.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Resident Policy (PDF)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Rent (weekly):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Without parking $117.00<\/li>\n<li>With parking: $118.00<\/li>\n<li>Rent must be paid a week in advance<\/li>\n<li>For initial move in, we require two week\u2019s rent plus $10.00 lock and key fee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fill out a completed application<\/li>\n<li>Our staff will review your application and verify employment\/income<\/li>\n<li>Provide photo identification as a SORI will be conducted<\/li>\n<li>An in person interview will also be conducted<\/li>\n<li>Once approved, a negative COVID-19 test will need supplied within 72 hours of moving in<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please send your completed applications to 101 Highland Ave Somerville, MA 02143.
